Registration for the 2024 Tenino Earth Day Celebration
Pre-registration/online registration is now closed.
But the good news is that you can still register in person tomorrow morning at the Quarry House. See schedule below. See you tomorrow!
The Tenino Earth Day celebration with be held on April 20, 2024 in the Tenino City Park. During the event participants will be asked to aid volunteers from the Friends of Tenino Parks in various "park cleanup" activities to be determined prior to the event. We are trying for minimal to zero waste, so bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated and get a free sticker.
New this year, thanks to the Lion's Club and local event sponsors a total of $1,500 is available in the prize pool, and every participating school in the Tenino School District will receive a percentage of the prize money based on attendance. Yes, everyone wins! The event can also be used to complete Community Service Hours.
*A parent or guardian must be present on the day of the event to sign in and sign the event participation waiver. Parental participation is strongly encouraged and children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Event staff will not be available to wait for child pickup after the end of the event.
Schedule of Events
9:30 am --- Sign in at the Quarry House in the Tenino City Park to receive t-shirt and work assignments
10:00 am --- Work party begins. The work party will end at 12:00 pm
11:00 am --- Community resource informational booths will be active in the park until 1:00 pm
Building off of last year's success, the following organizations will offer some
great activities and information to enrich the Earth Day experience.
Chehalis Basin Partnership, Thurston County Solid Waste, Tenino FFA/Tenino Community
Garden, Tenino Timberland Library, Black Hills Audubon Society Wolf Haven, Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), Sierra Club, B-THAT, Hercules Farm, Creekside
Conservancy
12:00 pm --- Group picture
12:15 pm --- Free lunch provided to participants by the Tenino Lion's Club
1:00 pm --- End of Earth Day event
